Bought this kit as a trainer kit due to its low price. The quality though was way under par and much worse than I'd expected!
I can't understand how Tamiya can flog such a poor kit since it hardly can't be good for their name?!
I have finished the kit but I learned from this to check each model prior to purchase - and that's how I found scalemates.com. In a way I'm happy I found this place due to a wonky model so in the end I won regardless, but if you want to add a Panther to your collection and aren't strictly into "vintage" kits - stay away from this kit and pick a newer one!

Well Jens, they have already improved. And this is a hammer kit!

Makes you wonder even more why they still sell the wonky one when they obviously have made new models??? Ok, this is a D and mine's an A - but nonetheless it's a shame because noobs like me without knowledge buy these "vintage" kits not knowing better and if I hadn't already bought another two kits at the same time, with much higher quality, chances are I would have binned the box and quit before I got started! That would've been a disaster since I'm really enjoying scale modelling 🙂
Thanks for the link!!!

Welcome aboard Jens! I always have scalemates ready on my phone when visiting a model shop. Don't ask how I came to that precaution....😉

Thanks Patrick! Yes, this seems to be an excellent resource - apart from all the friendly people as well! 🙂

With that new shiny box in one hand and all the reviews in the world through scalemates in the other hand I can survive a trip to my local model shop. After I post what a bought and what I plan to do with it all those people are there to help and answer all your questions.
