Well, here we have a trouble. There are three different topics for the 'same' thing:
- Sikorsky S-55
- Sikorsky H-19 Chickasaw
- Westland Whirlwind (helicopter)
And we have the same trouble for most of Sikorsky products, listed in the topics either under the company's own (S-xx) or US military (CH-xx, SH-xx, ...) designations.
This is not a trouble for those modellers with the knowledge about this matter, but anyone without it will miss many products in the database, so I think it will be better to merge all Sikorsky models under the company's designation.
What do you think about it?

I know, but many products can be combined.
What do you prefer for building a Whirlwind? The almost-50 years old Airfix kit or modify the almost 'state of the art' Italeri UH-19?

Merging is great unless it leads to mixing up very different molds in one manufactruer in one line. E.g. it would have been a bad idea to merge AV-8As and AV-8Bs under one Harrier label. Mixing Harriers and Sea Harriers works quite well though.
No objections to merging S-55/H-19/Whirlwind/HO3S under S-55
Likewise CH-54/S-64
Likewise H-3/Comando/Seaking/HSS under S-61
How can we make sure that any search using "HO3S" or "H-19" as an input will point at "Sikorsky S-55"
Apart from that a few knowledgable moderators can clean up the place pretty quickly in case someone got lost with the disginators 🙂

We can't be sure, but any just looking for HO3S may miss a lot of information, if he find nothing in that way MAYBE will be interested in making some research and will find the right path.

Right. So let's go and merge to S-51, S-55, S-58, S-61, S-64, S-70...anything else?

also, when you search for HO3S you do get results...you can always click on the header in search results, which will find all related articles.

so when searching for HO3S you get 2 results, but you will see it belongs to "Sikorsky S-51 Dragonfly", clicking on that one will trigger a new search...

Can we split the CH-53 into Sikorsky S-65 (two engines) and S-80 (three engines) then?
