It wasn't until the mid eighties that they started giving their cars names like
Caravelle, Laser, Neon and Voyager. It was always Sedan, Special Deluxe Coupe or Drop Head...

aaaah, Savoy was the synonym for station wagon. So it is not the type of the car.

This model represents the 1951 to 1952 Plymouth station wagon.1951 was the first year for the all steel body;it replaced the woodie body that was used up to 1950.They were offered in two models...the Concord Suburban and the dolled up Concord Savoy Suburban. The Suburban is always a station wagon. The Savoy model can be a Sedan or Wagon and the name was used up to the end of the 1965 model year. The Fury was introduced in 1956 as Plymouths high performance car.Plymouth started introducing names for their cars in the early 50's.

Savoy was NOT a synonym for station wagon. Plymouth used it as a model name just like the Wiki article says. The synonym for station wagon is suburban, US vehicle registrations still use this term today. The only time I've ever seen Suburban used as a model name is for the large Chevrolet which started out life as a station wagon built on a truck chassis. Today the Chevrolet Suburban is a huge SUV.
Plymouth had model names back in the 50s, it did not start in the 80s. I'm old enough to remember Plymouth Savoy sedans, my grandfather had one! Nice turquoise color. I wish I had it today, it's probably worth some money! 🙂

Hey Bill ,the Collector car market is real soft right now it might be time to jump in! Mopars from the early 50's are real cheap. This kit must be real rare...I've never seen one before.

My wife yells when I buy models, let alone collector cars! LOL - but my brother makes his living restoring Corvettes, he's working on a 1957 Vette right now.
