Q: Does anybody know if this particular kit comes with or without chromed parts?

It should do. While I'm not familiar with this particular kit, I've had a number of these large scale Italeri truck kits and they all included a pretty extensive sprue of chromed parts such as bumper, fuel tanks, grill, wheel rims and stacks etc.

I may want to have non-chromed parts and add metallic paint myself, but, I don't know for sure. I sort of have the impression (because I haven't built any car kit in a loong time) that chromed parts aren't necessarily nice, and maybe leaving a mark if cut from the sprue.

Yeah, I agree. Other issues are with sprue attachment points which tends to leave holes in the chrome plating when removed, and the cleaning up of joins on the stacks and fuel tanks etc. You can always remove the chrome plating with a bath of Mr Muscle oven cleaner etc and respray with your choice of metal paint.

I can answer my own question now, I found sprue photos at an online store. There is a sprue with chrome parts in the kit, wheel rims and other stuff. I had hoped to avoid using chemicals. 🙁

Mate, just to add...
You can remove the chrome, or touch it up with Molotow. However, Italeri chrome is covered by a clear coat. I've made comments on how to remove this, in the past. I did put a fair amount of effort into the research and results. However, this is currently a rare and hard to find kit. I'd consider any options carefully, my friend. Parts of this kit, are unique to this kit alone. You will definitely struggle, to replace some of them

I gave up on de-chroming the parts. It wouldn't work properly. I will probably airbrush on gloss-black and sand it smooth, but it sort of looks smooth already.

The kit itself, just to point this out, is mediocre, or, some parts are, nothing like a new mold kit, requiring some clean up. Luckily I am done with the clean up work for the chassis.

A lot of people have struggled with the chrome on italeri kits, mate. Just make sure that you give it a good wash in soapy water. I've always found italeri chrome, very greasy.

according to my good friend Mahoo76, it is as easy, but chemicals are certainly involved
Removing Italeri chrome: 1 brake fluid bath, 1 bleach batch and 1 brake fluid bath. Easy as 1, 2, 3!
he mentioned it for example at Mike Hailwood’s MV Augusta 4 cylinder 500 | Album by Cracka (1:9)

And that's exactly how it's done.
Unfortunately, our friend is trying to avoid any chemical use? But if it makes things a little more sympathetic, I recycle my used brake fluid, by saving it in the original tubs, and use it for exactly this purpose. Once totally useless, it's then taken off to the recycling centre. 🙂

I used (iirc) a lot of chlorine mixed with water, and then I felt bad about it. It did remove some chrome, but not consistently. :|

Unfortunately mate, I tried many things to remove the clear coat, and this was the only method that I found acceptable. Any other chrome, more or less, will strip straight away, using thick bleach. AMT and Revell, just come right off. Italeri and Moebius definitely need the brake fluid treatment. I haven't dared to try cellulose thinner, purely because I know that it softens the plastic. And if I hadn't personally tried it myself, then I certainly wouldn't recommend it. Currently, I can't think of anything that might help you, I'm afraid? I could try a couple of things, but they all involve some kind of chemical? Other than plain sanding, which we all know is very labourious? Sorry I couldn't be any more help brother 🙁

Just out of curiosity, have you tried washing a part, then just painting over the chrome?
My reason for asking is, exactly because of the clear coat? Basically, it's just a clear paint? I haven't myself yet, but we're all concerned about removing the chrome, and we may not need to? A light sand should provide a key, then we're good to go? The only reason why we originally remove the chrome, is because the paint wouldn't stick to it, but that's on the previously mentioned kits? Worth doing a test mate, on a cut off piece of sprue. Just be sure to wash everything off with soapy water and allow it to air dry first 👍

I like inspecting the parts making in general, making sure they are flush and smooth, and I don't trust the kit parts, even if chromed, to look nice by default. My only worry is the bolts on the inside of each rim, a piece of detail I can't clean up or fix easily, unless.. I decide to somehow cut them off and replace them with resin parts but honestly I don't want to do that.

Mate, I'd have to check my kit, to confirm the wheels are generic, first, but if that's the case, then don't worry too much. If I've got them, you can have them? I have lots of Italeri wheels and tyres. And Revell and AMT, for that matter. Give me a few mins and I'll check buddy

Confirmed.
They're the same as the other italeri Pete kits.
If things go wrong, just give me a shout mate. I can definitely help you out with those 10-4
